From what I've heard, if your bankruptcy involved any debt you owed American Express then they won't do business with you ever again. If not then you can get an Amex after the bankruptcy falls off your credit record. Do you know about the Amex Zync Card?

My cardholder agreement states if I ever file for bankruptcy, AMEX will automatically close the account and I am ineligible for another account with them. I don't wan to call AMEX asking about bankruptcy, but you sure can. Just call them and see what they say.

It is certainly possible to get an Amex after bankruptcy, as long as it is not on your record (10 years after discharge).

    Why do you want one?
