How long does it take for your AmEx membership rewards points to "show up"?

I currently have 2 American Express cards, Blue and Zync.

I've had my Blue Card for about 2 months now, and I recently paid the first bill (and paid it off in full, which I did about 4 days ago), and I'm just wondering how long it takes for my membership reward points to start showing up in my account. Right now it just says I have 0 points.

I haven't even paid my first Zync bill yet, but once I do, I *think* I get 10,000 bonus points for making my first purchase with Zync, but I could be wrong.

I think what I remember from the fine print in the card member agreement is that the basic rule is once you pay your bill and the account is in "good standing" the points will show up, but I was just curious if anyone knows/remembers how long this usually takes? Any information anyone can give me would be greatly appreciated!

It can take up to 2 pay periods for the reward points to show up. Be patient and you'll see them in a little while

I got an Amex gold card on a promo offer a while back; first year free and 10 or 20k (I forget) points. I waited and waited for my points to show up and called customer service numerous times and was given the runaround. I didn't get the points until after I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau.

You need to watch them to make sure they fulfill whatever they promised in the promo offer. If they don't, file a complaint with the BBB or the FTC. If they promised it, they need to deliver.

I'll keep this in mind as I wait for mine to show up.

I get mine one billing cycle later but I did have problems a few years back getting my bonus points for applying. Those can take a few months to show up or at least the used to.

I waited almost 3 months before I called the Amex Rewards Customer Service # about my 10,000 bonus points that I had'nt received yet. They were actually really polite, they did a little research and I had my bonus points credited to my acct later that day!!

Wow, I've never had any problems getting the miles. Actually I always get quite a few more than the amount I spend due to their specials. No matter which card I had from them I always got the promised mile within 2-4 weeks.

This one time I signed up for 3 gold cards and only got the membership rewards points bonus to show up on 2 of them.

Um, I wouldn't ask this forum when you will get your points, I would ask Amex-- and get it in writing (e-mail counts)! That way, you are guaranteed the points.
