Hello Adam, welcome to the forum! As mentioned the Zync card is easy to get but it does have a $25 annual fee. Between the Blue and the Clear, I would definitely choose Blue. The Clear is primarily geared towards those that carry a balance. The Blue has a much better rewards program. To find out more visit our American Express Blue card review.
Good luck!
I also want to re-iterate that I am talking about the standard Blue Card and not the Blue Cash card. The Blue Cash card rewards look astounding, but there is no way I will spend $6,500 in 1 year. I only work part-time as I am a full-time student.
Is the standard Blue Card still better than the Clear Card? I don't do any traveling and the majority of the use for this card will be for gas, online purchases (mostly Amazon.com), food and regular day to day items. I am going to try to use this instead of my debit card. What's unfortunate is Amazon.com is not one of the Bonus Points Mall partners.

Hello Adam,
If you spend less than $6,500 per year then you are correct in that the Blue Cash would not be for you. We do not recommend the regular Blue card because the rewards are dismal:
You would be far better off with the American Express Blue Sky which gives rewards that equals out to be 1.33% on your spending.Earn 1 point for every eligible dollar spent, 2X points when booking online travel through American Express, 3X points on Bonus Points Mall and up to 10x points with select partners.
Please let me know if you have any questions about it!
Best,
