    Default ameriprise mastercard?

    i was just at a strip mall and they had an office for ameriprise and they had a poster in the window for a mastercard? wtf why would an american express company advertise for a mastercard? they weren't just advertising either it was a card that was co-branded by ameriprise. lol american express co-branding a mastercard is about as messed up as you can get.

    Ameriprise is no longer owned by American Express.

    They must have parted on bad terms for Ameriprise to go out of their way and use Mastercard instead.

    I don't think it's because they're on bad terms with American Express. They probably did it as a way to reiterate that they are now a seperate company from Amex.

    Ameriprise wsa spun off in '05. They're a public company so you can look them up. Symbol = AMP. I don't know why Amex spun them off because they are almost a $10 billion dollar profitable company.

    That's weird they must have been buddy-buddy with amex a couple years ago. i got an offer in the mail on my american express blue card to signup for a consultation at ameriprise for retirement advice or something and they would send a $10 amex gift card. Apparently they were in cahoots with them back then. that's weird they would go choose the competition for their credit card... somethings up here.

    little up date i went by that same strip mall today with the ameriprise offices and today they had a poster for american express platinum card and its travel benefits. one day they're peddling mastercard and the next back to american express? these people need to make up their mind. it's almost like the dysfunctional couple that keeps breaking up and getting back together over and over again. make up your mind people which one is it going to be lol
