Lightbulb Free $75 food credit at Starwood

Starwood Hotels and American Express have a new benefit added to the American Express Gold Card members.

If you plan on staying at a Starwood Hotel for two days or more, just book your reservations through American Express travel services and you will receive a $75 credit for food and beverage at the hotel.

Keep in mind Starwood hotels include more than just those by that name, they own over 500 hotels including The W, Sheratin, Westin, and Le Meridien hotels. This is a great extra perk for the cardmembers.

Disclosure: We have financial ties to Amex since we advertise their cards.

I don't have a lot of money so I normally don't stay at these types of hotels, but if you do, I can see why this is a good deal. $75 is enough to cover a dinner both of your days at the hotel. Is this offer only available on the gold Amex cards or is it extended to the platinum also? I would think the platinum card would also get this since their annual fee is so high.
