Default The return of "My Wish List"

Now through December 18th American Express announced the return of their annual "My Wish List" which sets up a virtual storefront where a limited number of special offers and high end products are sold extremely cheap.

Last year this included a new Saab for $5,000. This year it is a Mercedes. I notice this year some of the offers are not necessarily a deal. They are offering a so called "limited edition" 65" Sharp LCD TV for $5,000 which must be close to the normal retail price anyway.

The contests take places several times throughout the day but you need an American Express card to participate.

I remember this from '04/'05 and this year Amex is looking awfully cheap. What's the deal with this 'prize' of 20% off at Bed, Bath and Beyond? RFLOL! I get coupons for 20% off there literally almost every week in the fricken mail!

Tomorrow it's another Sharp 42" tv for $700. Yep think I saw that as the sale price at a lot of places this past weekend. I went through a few days and it looks like the only thing you 'win' are 'prizes' for little discounts at crap places and crap things. . . . Nothing that would be on my 'wish list' that's for sure!

10% off at brookstone, samsonite luggage or hp? they call THAT a prize?

all they are giving away are small discounts at places. they must be getting a kickback from borders and others to do this. this is far from a giveaway or contest. all it is is a coupon handout.

Yes I was pretty disappointed when I saw the items on there too. I scrolled through all 18 days and to be honest the only prize that you come out ahead on is the free car. Other than that Amex is mostly giving out small discounts and other prizes which you can find free coupon codes for online that do the same thing anyway.

Go ask one person what is on their wish list this year and I GUARANTEE you not a single person will say "I want a 10% discount at Samsonite suitcases" or "I dream of getting 10% off Bed and Bath" ARE YOU SERIOUS THEY CALL THISTHING A WISHLIST?????

I hate Mercedes (too snobby) and SUV's too but if I'm around the computer on the 18th (the day for that contest) I'll go ahead and play. It's the only valuable prize they're really giving this year and you can always sell the car if you won.
