It's not really that strange if you consider that this card is meant for the serious road warrior. The people who have this card probably spend 90% of their lives traveling and aren't just driving around locally. The card is also not often used in your hometown. It is being used to book your plane tickets, hotel reservations, resort bookings, boat charters, automobile purchases, and anything else you can think of. It isn't a grocery, gas, electronics card. That is the sort of thing any credit card can do for you. The Black Card is more of a niche market.
