You get 5% cashback on more categories than any other credit card on the planet! On all other spending you will get at least 0.25% for the first $3,000 spent annually and then an unlimited 1.00% on all spending beyond that.

The 5% categories rotate throughout the year and for 2012 here's the calender:
  • Jan thru Mach = gas stations, museums, movies
  • April thru June = restaurants, movies
  • July thru Sept = gas stations, theme parks, movies
  • Oct thru Dec = department stores, toy stores, electronics stores
This is the first year Discover has included gas stations twice. What that means is that you will be saving 5% on your gas for 6 out of 12 months. That's helpful with these high gas prices, right?
