Thread: Why is my credit limit so low?

I want to know why my credit limit is so low. I have a 744 FICO, good credit util rate and only debt is car payment. My Citi gives me 4,400, Amex Blue at 2200 and BofA at 5800. Why do they give me these toy credit limits that are useless? I need a card with a half way decent credit limit.

Have you had credit cards and or banking relationships in the past? 744 isn't amazing. I would fully utilize the cards for a few months and then request higher limits. You sound as if you got all these cards at once. For middle class America those limits are on the low end but not necessarily toy limits. how many purchases are you making in excess of 5800? Assuming you are and paying them right down the bank will see this and generally triple the limit the first month.
