Question Unemployed have back injury-Credit cards?

Hi folks I am unemployed. I understand a credit card is hard to get in these circumstances. The odd thing about my situation is I CAN afford to pay my credit card back each month even by Direct debit straight back to the credit card people. I have a good amount in my account to do this for another 5 years from my previous job. I will not spend much being on benefits (I have a back injury). My problem lye's with my bank(who cannot open an C Card account) in that they WONT believe me. This is despite me paying them back since being unemployed every month the full amount on a credit card I already have and them seeing how much I have left in my account. They admitted i had good amounts too! I understand that banks many not issue credit cards as easily these days but given what I have said with the above circumstances can some one on this forum please not label me and help me find a credit card(not through my bank) that would be okay. Preferably one which would look at my good history with my 1st credit card since being unemployed in the last 2 years. I need a second C Card for another paypal account on ebay as they require this. This card seems ideal as it has a high interest on it if you dont pay them back(which I will of course) is this the sort of thing I should look for(given low interest cards will not accept me)-or will there terms and conditions turn me down to because of my unemployment! I read online that the history of previous refusals can effect things sometimes? Having read the terms and conditions I cannot see anything specific and am worried that if it goes pear shaped I would get another black mark or rejection on my GOOD HISTORY(how bizarre) I am not the best when it comes to understanding financial things by the way!

REALLY HOPING SOME ONE CAN GIVE ME A HAND HERE-WOULD BE REALLY APPRECIATED!

I am not to familiar with the UK Credit Card market however have you ever heard about a secured Credit Card in the UK. In the US they offer it, you deposit a amount equal to your credit limit in a account of the issuing bank and they hold the funds for like 2 years. These cards are great especially for people who are in a situation you are in. They come up on your credit report like any other card.

Default Thanks I will have to find out some how.

Thats sounds like an idea it seems unfair to tye your money up like that. I will type in the search engine and find out more what you mean when you say this and see what UK offers. The other thing I thought of doing is asking a credit card company to split my credit limit between 2 cards. As I say I have one credit card. I need 2 as explained previously. Has any one tried to ask if there bank will issue 2 credit cards with a split credit limit ?

    Thanks.

In the United States not as much weight is given to current employment because there are many like you who are not working currently, but they have plenty in the bank.

But is there a reason you need a credit card? Like mentioned above, why not just go with a secured card?
