Default credit card company may have lowered my interest rate on a closed card

credit card company may have lowered my interest rate on a closed card.

The cut my interest rate amount in half. Don't know the minimum yet. I just notice that on the website that the interest was reduced. The card was closed by me, at a flat rate way before the new laws when into effect. I am in the U.S. I am just hoping the website is not a mistake.

For your info, I am on dial-up.

That's a nice surprise if it's correct! Which issuer is it? I know Advanta, which is now out of business, was forced to reduce interest rates on existing accounts in order to make good on their promises.
Disclosure: I am a moderator/paid staff of this site, which does have advertising relationships with some credit cards that are discussed. Regardless, anything I say is my honest opinion.

It might be a court settlement or an enticement to keep me from going to a ccc. They may have put me in the hardship program automatically. I rather not say the name. At least tell I know if it is true or what it is. Which I will know by the end of March.
