Increase limit on current card or apply for a new one?
I am going to be 22 next month and I have had a Visa Card from my Bank since the day I turned 18 years old. The current problem with this card is the limit is only $500. I would like to be able to spend more and not worry about using 50% of the available balance.
Would it be wise to keep this as my one and only credit card and just apply for an increase or should I apply for a new credit card altogether?
I have never checked my credit score, but I could not see it being poor. I have never missed a payment and have always payed more than the minimum. I did max it out once, but that about a year after I got it and have never gone more than 50% of my balance since.
I appreciate any input I can receive. Thanks for the help!

Get a credit line increase and get another credit card. Preferably from a different bank and different merchant. so if you have Visa get a MasterCard or Amex. A trick to get a credit increase is to do it online on your credit account for 500 I would ask for 1200, it will say please call 1800 XXXXXXXX don't call wait a few days and it will be on there. Let us know what happens and what you decide to do.

What credit card would you recommend for my credit history?

How are Discover cards? Should I get a Discover card or Mastercard? I doubt I would quality for an AMEX with my somewhat limited credit history.
