Question Visa Classic and Visa Platinum Credit Cards

I currently have a Visa Classic credit card issued through my bank. If I apply for and get a Visa Platinum card through the same bank, will they cancel the Visa Classic card or will I simply have 2 Visa Cards?

Better to just call the bank and say you want an upgrade to platinum. Your bank might not offer it anymore and might be offering "signature" instead. All of my Visa cards are signature and I don't have a problem with them. However, some on here have said that signature cards don't report your credit limit to the credit bureaus, which I understand can be an issue for some.

Yeah I would just ask for an upgrade too. But FYI Platinum Visa is for the most part the same as the regular.

Not with my bank as the Visa Cards are issued through my bank. The Platinum Visa (issued through my bank) comes with a higher minimum approval line of credit.

Typically the lowest credit line for Visa Platinum is $2,000 but that might have been lowered since the recession. At the same time it's still possible to have a basic Visa Gold card with a $10,000 or higher limit. The color of the card doesn't mean a limit will be high or low. But as stated above you might as well ask for an upgrade.
