The most appalling thing about outsourced foreign customer service is they play us for idiots. I recently dealt with a call for my computer to a call center in India. Throughout the entire ordeal I spoke with three people who all claimed they had names like Thomas, George, and Mary. I told him they're not fooling me nor anyone else and to be honest. I tried disputing this fact with a manager telling him there is no reason to make up his name, yet he insisted his real birth name was Thomas Matthew Smith.

That is a fake name if I've ever heard one, especially considering he was Indian and the call center was in India.

+1 here. Back in the day when I had a cap1 card and this lady on the phone was so sure that her name is Tracy. Sure Sure Sure... They make so much money in the US so let the cust reps be in the US and stop outsourcing them.

Why do I love Amex ?
Simple, I have a Credit Card issued in the US and when I call I have an American on the phone talking to me from a callcenter somewhere in the US. I just prefer it this way.

Discover has real American folks answering the phones too.

Any credit card outfit that doesn't is unpatriotic and you shouldn't use their cards.

What country has Capital One outsourced their call centers too? I have had a difficult time communicating with their customer service. After this billing cycle I'm going to stop using Cap One outright. I can't deal with the lousy service I've been getting.
