I haven't heard anything. Do you mean a credit card issued or co-branded by Google or a payment network like Discover or American Express that is run by Google?
I highly doubt Google would do this. If they were to enter the financial sector they would do it first with an online payment service similar to Paypal since they are an online company, and even if they were going to do that I doubt they would do it now in this economy.
Disclosure: I am a moderator/paid staff of this site, which does have advertising relationships with some credit cards that are discussed. Regardless, anything I say is my honest opinion.
Current Cards: American Express: Blue Cash, Simply Cash Bank of America: WorldPoints Platinum Plus Chase: Amazon, British Airways, Cash Plus Rewards, Freedom, Ink Cash Citi: Thank You Premier, Dividend Platinum Select Discover: More
Primary Everyday Card: American Express Blue Cash
Primary Travel Card: Citi Thank You Premier
I see little incentive for Google to undertake such a task.
If they wanted to do this they could easily buy out Discover for under $10 billion. That would be a much easier way, but like I said, I don't think they have any interest in entering this industry.
Google already has a payment system called GOOGLE CHECKOUT that competes with Paypal and from what I hear they aren't doing too well so they may want to imrprove that before thy try their own credit card.
You'd think you'd be able to google it.
