    Default Creditors closing inactive accounts.

It appears creditors are now aggressively closing accounts if you are not using your card.

Of course they are - they're not making any money off of people who don't use their cards. No interest, no fees, zilch, nada.

I take out my cards every once in a blue moon to use them so they can't do that to me. Wouldn't that be a big no-no on the credit file since they are closed by them instead of you?

i dont blame em no reason for them to waste money sending out statements and doing accounting for cards that haven't been used. that article said discover closed 3 mil and closing 2 mil more. at the same time kind of stupid they should try and use reward incentives to get them to use their cards again before closing them without notice. i use all my card on a regular basis so no worries for me.

I have a Citi credit card that they closed not too long ago on me. I haven't used it for years but that's their fault because they completely changed the card. It was the Citi Dividend card that use to give 5% cashback on groceries, gas, and pharamcies and now it only gives 2% back in those places.

What do they expect us to keep using their card when they cut the benefits on us 60%? I don't think so buddy.

Don't credit card companies got to spend a lot in advertising to recruit new members?? Instead of canceling cards w/o notice what they should be doing is giving incentives to try and get the cardholders to come back and start using their credit cards again.

I know if Citi offered to doubly my points on gas / grocery stores /drugstores from the cheap 2% to 4% I would come back and probably use the card.
