    Default 6.9 % Fixed Offer ?

Recently I was contacted by a company " Credit Card Ratings " that said they had called because recently I'd requested that my interest rate on one of my cards be lowered, but wasn't. They claimed that if I had any outstanding balance on any of my cards with an interest rate of 15% + they could lower all of my cards to 6.9% at no cost to me ... I visited the site for Credit Card Ratings and couldn't find anything about this. Does anyone know anything about what I've said here ?
    Thanks ...

It sounds like a scam to me. These boiler rooms will play that games and make calls like that pretending they are aware of your situation. They can do this because they know X% of the population has credit card debt or whatever they're peddling, so they can do that because they know it will be relevant for a portion of the people they call. I bet it was a blind call and they have no idea who you are or what your financial situation is.
Disclosure: I am a moderator/paid staff of this site, which does have advertising relationships with some credit cards that are discussed. Regardless, anything I say is my honest opinion.

    Current Cards:
American Express: Blue Cash, Simply Cash Bank of America: WorldPoints Platinum Plus Chase: Amazon, British Airways, Cash Plus Rewards, Freedom, Ink Cash Citi: Thank You Premier, Dividend Platinum Select Discover: More
Primary Everyday Card: American Express Blue Cash
Primary Travel Card: Citi Thank You Premier

I've done pretty well through the years operating on the premise that if someone I don't know calls me, they are not offering me something I want or need and do not have my best interest at heart. Perhaps I have missed a good opportunity or two along the way but I suspect the savings in getting scammed or having to put up with idiots calling me more than makes up for it.

I would not have even answered the call.

When I do talk to someone on the phone (because I know them or they are from a company I know of) I always require them to provide documentation and information in writing before I give them of confirm any information. The legitimate companies never have a problem doing this.

thank you for the reply ... I should have added that the balance on any one card would have to be $3k + @ 15% or higher but ... the service was being offered for FREE !

It could be a good deal but, like I said, I would be very suspicious if they called you out of the blue.
