    Default No P.O. Box addresses

More and more creditors now require applicants to reveal their physical addresses instead of mailing addresses. Little do they realize that there is a possibilty of mail theft when they send out credit cards/statements - easy prey for ID theft.
They will absolutely not allow PO Boxes as mailing addresses.
One way around this is to go to a Mailboxes, etc. store, a UPS or Fed Ex store, and open a box there.
Then have your address listed as follows (example)
    Your name
    555 Broadway - (the store's address)
    # 666 - (your box #)
    City, state, zip

The creditor will assume that 555 Broadway is an apartment complex and that #666 is your apartment #.

    Good tip.

I didn't know that though because now that I think about it I've never tried to use a P.O. Box for mailing. Do they require a home address for security reasons maybe? To make sure the bills go to the owner of the card? Because that's useless since some people have multiple addresses and a criminal could always have mail delivered to a vacant house.

According to some people creditors want physical addresses so they can hunt you down easier in case they get a judgment against you. Legally the debtor has to be personally served with a judgment against him/her. They can not serve one on a PO Box, and would have to go through more legal ways for the post office to reveal one's physical address.
Which is a joke too, because people move all over the place without notifying the post office.
