Have you seen these devices to modify your car to save gas using water... or at least that's what they claim to do. These are all a total scam and I'm so sick and tired or seeing these pop up over and over under different companies and different names. They all claim to be able to separate water into hydrogen and oxygen and then use that to increase your gas mileage. Sounds neat, huh? The law of thermodynamics makes it 100% clear that the energy needed to separate H2O equals the energy those compounds will be able to produce on their own.

Even with 100% efficiency in the conversion process (and mind you, all these systems have far below that!) the system would be a break-even in terms of energy output. The only reason some can claim a mild improvement in gas mileage is because they change the engine's computer during installation (making it run lean) and this changes that air/gas percentages during the combustion process. This *might* increase your fuel economy by 2% to 5% but this also DESTROYS your engine long term. Wear and tear on the manifold valves and other parts will be at a rate several times normal.

Remember that auto manufacturers want their cars to get the best MPG from the factory - it makes them easier to sell. Just watch their commercials and they all mention their car's efficiency. Don't you think it changing the air/gas percentages was all it took to increase mileage they would do it themselves so they could claim their cars are better? Well there's a reason they don't. The configuration that comes from the factory is optimal - meaning the best MPG for the least amount of wear and tear.

Read the facts before you drop $899 or more on these scams. Universities and news programs like Datelines have all done studies on these - look them up to see.

Oh yes, snake oil for feeble-minded folk. But we have enough feeble-minded folk in this country that buy stuff like that.

Folks are more gullible now than ever before. With the internet you would think these folks would do their research before they spend their hard earned money but I guess common sense is not too common now.
