They are definitely inflated to a degree because of that but the question is how much?

I suspect we shrank again. The 3.5% number was because of cash for clunkers and the housing stimulus. Plus the federal stimulus money for construction is finally getting spent and counted.
But what do you expect them to do? It's all about consumer confidence and optimism. They need to pump that up or we will never recover. If it takes a white lie to make that happen I'm fine with that. It might be democrats telling the lie now but you can bet the same thing would be happening if it were republicans in control.
