Default How to choose a rewards credit card? Please help me

I am new to reward credit cards and would greatly appreciate your advice choosing!

I am currently debating between the Chase Freedom and Discover More Cards. They appear to be almost identical, both offer up to 5% cash back with rotating categories. If all things are the same I suppose I prefer the Chase because Visas are accepted everywhere, however I have read a couple negative reviews regarding Chase cards: 1.) That they cut spending limits on customers that pay their bills in full and on time and 2.) That they may be cutting down their cash back rewards. Is there any truth to these rumors?

I recently decided to cross the AMEX Blue Cash off my list (even though I spend more than $1500/month) because I don't spend a ton of money on gas stations, drugstores, or grocery stores. Is that a pretty fair assumption, or should I reconsider the AMEX?

ANY feedback is GREATLY appreciated! Thanks so much!

One factor to take into account is the two aforementioned cards have different caps on the amount of spending that qualifies for five percent.

The first step of how to choose a rewards credit card would probably be to identify the categories you spend the most in. What would you say those would be?
Disclosure: I am a moderator/paid staff of this site, which does have advertising relationships with some credit cards that are discussed. Regardless, anything I say is my honest opinion.

I'm sorry I meant to make my own thread, but I must have replied to this one instead.
