Cool Sony Playstation visa credit card review anyone???

I got an email from Sony about a new credit card they came out with this week called the Sony Playstation Visa. The rewards after you get the card don't really impress me but the signup bonus is nice because if gives $150 off the purchase of one new PS3 at Sonyrewards.com

The rewards suck other than that but if you by chance need to buy a new PS3 right now that saves you $150 but with the regular price being $400 you would stkll be paying almost $250.

It's kind of a weird time to come out with another store-type credit card. What do you think, they are doing it because now Sony wants to say they are a bank so they can get a part of that bailout money??! ....YEP!

I don't think it's worth doing a hard pull on your credit report for a one time savings of $150. At least the other cards that have promo signup offers are usually good cards you will keep using.

The only signup promo offer I go for is the 25,000 bonus miles on the American Express Gold Rewards business card. That equals out to be $250 in airfare credit. They do that offer every July-August but that's the only time they do it unfortunately.
Disclosure: I am a moderator/paid staff of this site, which does have advertising relationships with some credit cards that are discussed. Regardless, anything I say is my honest opinion.

    Current Cards:
American Express: Blue Cash, Simply Cash Bank of America: WorldPoints Platinum Plus Chase: Amazon, British Airways, Cash Plus Rewards, Freedom, Ink Cash Citi: Thank You Premier, Dividend Platinum Select Discover: More
Primary Everyday Card: American Express Blue Cash
Primary Travel Card: Citi Thank You Premier

PS3's were on sale today at a few places around me. what would the point be of buying a PS3 for full price from sony and getting 150 off when you can get it on sale somewhere else without the need for their sony credit card.
