From what I gather, in some regions/countries V and MC have combined their networks and work together. In those areas they are literally the same thing.

As I said, there are some tiny differences in where they are accepted that I have run into at various times. But unless you have a specific use in mind (like paying tuition), it just doesn' matter which one you pick.

Any difference in prestige is completely in your head. The merchant does not give a $ hit which one you use as long as he is paid. If you are easily brainwashed by marketing and think one of them is more prestigious and that matters to you, then that's the one you should apply for.

For the record, there was a thread on this forum a while back about how people that have the most prestigous cards are the most obnoxious dweebs.

In Romania not many take credit cards. Cash is needed. Visa is big in Europe.

    Hi,

My personal opinion is that the VISA is good or MASTER depends entirely upon the country where the card is being used.when it comes to Global markets, credit card companies offer MASTER cards as a better option than VISA, especially when traveling to European countries. So,it's entirely depends on the country where we are living..

    Thank you

Personally, I think they're both great. I would just say Visa is accepted at more locations. But that all depends on where you are.

American express has 85 % of there cards have annual fees, Discover isn't as accepted as Visa or Mastercard, plus there giving 5% back on 300.00 at gas stations while Chase Visa is giving 5% back on I think 1200.

In Spain, where a credit card is accepted, both VISA and MasterCard are accepted. The three local networks use VISA and MasterCard as the same thing.

Discover is not accepted at all and American Express is less common because of its greater merchant fees.

which is your favorite credit card, visa or Mastercard?

when you people go shopping at places like Lord & Taylor, Champs, Macys, sears
Bed bath and beyond, American eagle outfitters, Armani Exchange etc which is your favorite credit card to use Visa or Mastercard?

what about to eat places like hooligans, Fridays, Ruby Tuesdays , outback, Applebees etc how do you decide on which credit card you want to use?

I only have a visa. I had a mastercard for a very short time but I canceled it.

Yup i agree, you won't easily find people who own Master Card in some countries.

But depending on a person's need and also for a common man, VISA card is best
