About LinkBacksAny recommendations for the best fee free debit card? I saw Schwab advertising a debit card that is fee free at all ATMs. Something like that would be convenient but I have seen those in the past, only later to see the banks do a "bait and switch" by changing the program later on. If I'm going to go through the hassle of switching banks for my checking account, it better be for a perk that's going to stay.

ING Direct offers a debit card that is free of fees at all "Allpoint" ATMs as well as all others, although these might require a fee reimbursement. I've been very happy with my ING Direct account. However, you will need to have a brick and mortar checking account at least to open the ING. Also note that the Dutch are spinning off ING Direct in the next year or two to comply with an EU requirement, so things could change with them. Opening an ING account online is easy, so if it doesn't work out it shouldn't be that big of a deal. Also look into Emigrants and Everbank if you're considering an online account.
