Thread: The New Diamond-Studded MasterCard

Despite that the world is in a financial mess, one bank will be issuing a diamond and gold laced MasterCard in less than two weeks.

Nicknamed the "Diamond" card, it will l carry a $1000 annual fee and issued by Kazkommerstsbank, the 2nd largest bank in the oil rich country of Kazakhstan, whose citizens have experienced new wealth lately thanks in part to skyhigh commodity prices. In case you were thinking of applying, this card will not be available outside of Kazakhstan.

The card will feature a .02 carat diamond in the center along with a picture of a winged horse for male cardholders or a peacock for females. The card will also be laced with gold. They claim they will issue them to "the best of VIP customers" and only plan to issue about 30 a month and a 1,000 cards total.

Compared to American credit cards, the features of "The Diamond" card don't even come close those of our mid-level platinum cards. The Diamond credit card will only have a credit limit of $50,000.

This is a load of crap. Diamonds on a credit card is the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard.

Now thieves will have a whole new reason to steal your wallet!

I'm not impressed. A low quality 0.02 carat diamond is only worth a few dollars. Gold lacing can be done very cheaply too. The actual materials that would go into making a card such as this would be less than $30. The real cost of this card is designing and manufacturing such a small quantity of cards; this is the only expensive aspect of the card.

For how cheaply the materials are to make this card I am surprised we have not seen an American credit card company issue a similar card yet.

Yea being that I see 1/2 carat total weight diamond rings for sale at like Kay Jewelers and JCPenney for $199 it doesn't seem like a .02 diamond would cost that much!

I think the new design of the Amex Centurion that are all metal uses gold plating or something on it because the text and border are gold colored.

That is so cool. I wish this card was in the US because I would most definitely get it. Do you think it would be possible to make your own card like this? If the only thing that matters is the magnetic strip couldn't you make your own metal credit card and then transfer a magnetic strip from your own card to the back of it?

I have been looking on search engines about metal credit cards and how to make them. I want to find a way to re-code either a black Amex or a card like this that is expired with my own credit card info.

What kind of sickos do we have in this world having GOLD AND DIAMOND credit cards when others don't have food!
