Default Visa 'Currency of Progress' Campaign

Hello, I was wondering what users of these credit card forums have to say about Visa's new campaign for 'Currency of Progress'. Visa is a global payments technology company that connects consumers, businesses, banks and governments. It is helping economies grow and is making life easier. Visa is saving taxpayers money by streamlining and simplifying benefits using prepaid Visa cards. It is the Currency of Progress.

Nothing new, just a marketing gimmick.

Visa is so large that the only way they can grow is to expand in the third world and into payments that previously were made by cash. The merchant pays a little extra to Visa, Visa pulls a little out of the local economy. locals get poorer, Visa gets richer.

    Tao,

You sound like you work for Visa.

I'm watching CNN as I type this and your ad just ran. To be honest there are racial undertones in the commercial I would recommend you guys re-think before they blow up into an issue.

What I'm talking about is during the commercial they are talking about how 38 states use Visa prepaid cards to give out benefits to those in need. Being that you should a grocery store shopper while this was said, I'm guessing this implied food stamps. The problem is these food shoppers you showed were only black from what I could see.

Associating African Americans and food stamps? That doesn't give the right message. I would change this commercial ASAP if I were Visa.
Disclosure: I am a moderator/paid staff of this site, which does have advertising relationships with some credit cards that are discussed. Regardless, anything I say is my honest opinion.
